Windows Vista: The requested operation requires elevation
If you are using Windows Vista as your operating system and tried out certain commands using the Command Prompt (cmd), you might have encountered the error “The requested operation requires elevation“.
As an example, if you open cmd and try to flush your DNS cache using “ipconfig flushdns”, you’ll get the error.
To avoid this issue, you need to open cmd as an Administrator. Click on Start, right-click on “Command Prompt” from the list shown and select “Run as Administrator”. Now try the same operation again. The problem should be resolved now.
