Gmail on your desktop
The Google Gadget for Gmail enables you to have Gmail running in your Windows sidebar.
You need to have Google Desktop 5 installed for this to work.
Not only can you read your emails, but you can do most of the Gmail operations — Compose, Forward, Reply, Mark as Spam, etc.

Gmail adds themes support
The rate at which we are seeing new features added to Gmail is quite nice. The latest feature is the ability to select Themes.
There are limited number of themes currently, but this will surely increase in the coming days/weeks. I have switched to using the “Shiny” theme currently!

Better late than never! Gmail finally introduced support for smileys on 23rd October.

Offline support available in Gmail for Mobile 2.0
Google releases Gmail for Mobile Phones 2.0 with support for J2ME enabled phones and BlackBerry.
