Microsoft Silverlight is a programmable web browser plugin that enables features such as animation, vector graphics and audio-video playback that characterize rich internet applications. Silverlight competes with technologies such as Adobe Flash, SVG, Adobe Flex, Adobe Shockwave, JavaFX, Curl and JavaScript.
