Paint.NET: Free equivalent to Photoshop
Paint.NET is free image and photo editing software for Windows. It features an intuitive user interface with support for layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools. An active and growing online community provides friendly help, tutorials, and plugins.
If you cannot afford to get your hands on a licensed version of Adobe Photoshop, this is a great alternative tool. GIMP is another one that I will cover in a review shortly.
Paint.NET has a roadmap published on their website that covers the features that can be expected in upcoming releases. I liked their auto-update feature, which notifies you about new releases which can then be easily downloaded from within the application.
