Google recently launched a service whereby you can provide subscription to your blog via SMS.

As strange as it sounds, this is quite a unique way of alerting your readers about updates on your blog. The service is completely free for both the publisher as well as the readers.

You do need to verify your mobile number once when you sign-up for the service.

As a trial, along with the launch of the lab209 blog, I’ve provided SMS subscriptions for lab209 as well. The service is only available in India currently, but do expect an international launch soon.
