Google Flu Trends
Google has come up with an interesting application on top of Google Trends, called Google Flu Trends. It is an application specifically for USA and looks at estimating flu activity based on certain search terms.
The graphs on the website which compares data produced by Google Flu Trends vis-a-vis actual flu activity data published by Center for Disease Control (CDC) is remarkable similar. Google claims that they can predict flu activity up to 2 weeks before CDC can!
This is an interesting application developed out of just search terms that we all use. What next Google?
