6+ Flickr Plugins for WordPress

Flickr is a great source for images that one can integrate into blog posts. You need to just ensure that the licensing terms for the images are acceptable for you to integrate into your blog.

The most obvious way to get these images are to search for the images directly at Flickr; save the image of your choice to your disk, and then upload it into the media folder of WordPress. To long and tedious a process, I must say. There are several Flickr plugins available for WordPress which makes this process as simple as it gets. Many of them take care of the licensing terms as well, by restricting the search to images which are released under the Creative Commons license.

So, finally let me list out some of the plugins that I am aware of.

Tan Tan Noodles Photo Album

Developed by Joe Tan, the Photo Album, has been released under the GPL. It supports various options like LightBox, FaceBox, etc. to give your Flickr stream a very visually appealing look.

Photo Dropper

Photo Dropper integrates at the back end and allows you to search for images on Flickr when you are writing your post.

FAlbum

FAlbum is a Wordpress plugin that allows you to display your Flickr photos and photosets on your site.

Slickr Gallery

Slickr Gallery is a photo gallery plugin for Wordpress. It allows you to pull your Flickr-hosted photos into a gallery section of your blog, as well as easily add Flickr-hosted images to your posts and pages.

WordPress Flickr Manager

Wordpress Flickr Manager is a plugin that seamlessly integrates your Flickr account with your WordPress backend.

phpFlickr

If you are comfortable with PHP programming, you might consider looking at phpFlickr. This is a PHP class that provides you with a multitude of options of retrieving images from Flickr.

This is by no means a comprehensive list. Which plugin to do you? Do leave for comments below.
